Raheel Zia

Bio

Mr Zia joined Bessemer in 2003 as an Associate in the Wellesley Hills office. He focuses on early stage investments in software and infrastructure technology companies. Before joining Bessemer, Mr Zia was co-founder and CEO of an XML applications company, KNUMI, where he was responsible for sales and marketing, as well as establishing key strategic relationships. Prior to starting KNUMI, Mr Zia was a Product Manager at AltaVista, in Palo Alto, where he was responsible for the multimedia search engine product line. His other experience encompasses roles at Citibank, Deloitte & Touche, and Price Waterhouse, where he has worked closely on both strategy and technology consulting assignments with large and startup technology organizations. In a previous life, Mr Zia was an engineer with Digital (DEC), where he worked on designing & prototyping real-time data delivery subsystems for the financial services industry. MBA from the Harvard Business School. MS in Computing from London University (England). BEn (Hons) in Electronic Engineering, UMIST. He is also a qualified CPA.
