Natalie Giroux

Bio

Ms Giroux joined Skypoint in July of 2001, where she uses her 15 years of experience in the Telecommunication industry to evaluate and assess new investment opportunities as well as mentor the Skypoint portfolio firms. Prior to joining Skypoint, Ms Giroux was Associate Vice President of Architecture and Technology at Alcatel Corporation, where she contributed to the assessment of technology startup companies. Ms Giroux started her career at Bell Northern Research in 1988, then she joined Newbridge Networks in 1993, where she directed several divisions including Performance Engineering, and Patents and Licensing. As Director of Patents and Licensing, Ms Giroux negotiated third-party licensing requests and provided the vision and leadership required to efficiently grow a patent portfolio. In 2001, Ms Giroux was promoted to Associate Vice President of Architecture and Technology at Newbridge. In this role, she assessed and consolidated various leading-edge technologies and established the Alcatel Research and Innovation Center, a leading source of advanced research in security, network processors and network management. An author of numerous books and articles on technology, Ms Giroux holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematic Computer Sciences and a Master's degree in Computer Science, both from Université Laval.
