J.R. is a Partner at Evolution Equity Partners. He leads investments in cybersecurity, enterprise software and consumer and brings over three decades of investment, operational and entrepreneurial experience to his role. J.R. is a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to Evolution J.R. was Chief Executive Officer of AVG Technologies (NYSE:AVG) where he was responsible for strategy and operations and leading the company to an IPO in 2012 on the New York Stock Exchange. J.R. is considered to be a thought leader in the areas of security, privacy and data protection and has authored several books in these areas. Previously, he was CEO of United Kingdom based dot mobile, a mobile virtual network operator he co-founded that partnered with Vodafone to provide mobile services in the United Kingdom. He co-founded Telecom Solutions Group, a pan-European network deployment and telecommunications software company. J.R. began his career in Seattle, Washington with PNC, which became VoiceStream acquired by T-Mobile (NASDAQ:TMUS). J.R. holds an MBA from the Washington State University School of Business.
