Jérôme Halbout

Bio

Mr Halbout is a Partner of 4D Global Energy Advisors. His experience in the energy sector dates to 1992, as Head of the Energy Project Finance teams of Crédit Lyonnais and Lazard Frères & Cie. Subsequently Senior Banker, Head of the Energy/Utilities Sector at Crédit Lyonnais, his responsibilities covered all of the bank's activities worldwide in the industry. Before working in the finance industry, Mr Halbout undertook 10 years of basic research at the CNRS in Paris and during post-doctoral work at the Enrico Fermi Institute at the University of Chicago. Mr Halbout has chaired and participated in numerous industry panels, including as Energy Expert for the International Energy Agency and as vice-chairman of the financing committee of the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Energie. He was appointed a director of the GEP, the association of French oil services companies, in 2006. Mr Halbout speaks fluent English and French, and as a Partner is a director of Acorn Oil & Gas. Mr Halbout is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, Mr Halbout holds a French Doctorat es Sciences, and is a PhD in Geochemistry from the University of Paris. In 2003 he was appointed to the Board of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon.
