James Castanino

Bio

Since joining GEF in 2006, James Castanino has worked across target sectors of the Emerging Markets investment program. His deal experience includes Duoyuan Global Water (NYSE:DGW), NeoGas do Brasil, and Red Ambiental. Mr. Castanino also leads the program’s business development efforts in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining GEF, Mr Castanino worked in strategy and business development for American Express Co. in New York and London, where he helped build and launch new businesses in the United States, Europe, and Australia. James also evaluated M&A opportunities across the firm’s business lines. Mr Castanino has an MA in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with a concentration in Energy and Environment and holds a BA, cum laude, in History from Harvard University.
