Lived and worked in the US since 1964. Has an extensive 20 year track record in transatlantic M&A during which time leads more than 30 transactions worth in excess of £450m. Currently a Managing Director at FOCUS LLC - a US-based mid-market boutique investment bank, headquartered in Washington DC, that specialises in serving businesses with revenues of between $5 million and $300 million. As part of this role spends 25% of his time travelling in UK and Europe. Prior to joining FOCUS, spent more than a decade as the co-founder and chair of Potomac Capital Group - a boutique investment bank based in Northern Virginia, which focused on transatlantic MBO/MBI transactions. Also enjoyed a corporate career with two major companies: At Tarmac America, a major division of Tarmac plc, with revenues of $750 million, was CFO and then Executive Vice President. During tenure was responsible for opening the US corporate office and for completing over $150million of acquisitions and divestures. At the American Can Corporation (ACC), enjoyed a twenty-one year career highlights of which include: as Founder and General Manager built the Trade Access Group, a proprietary database which is still the industry standard in the grocery business. Was part of the team which repositioned Musicland Inc into the largest music retailer in the US before floating it on the New York Stock Exchange; subsequently served as Sector General Auditor on the management team which grew ACC into a major multi billion dollar financial services firm. Also an active angel investor and has personally invested in several early stage venture funds.
