Frank Tota

Bio

Mr Tota is the Founder and a General Partner of Arcturus Capital. Over the past four years, Mr Tota has worked closely with HRL Laboratories and other top research facilities to develop and commercialize new technologies in Southern California. Prior to founding Arcturus Capital, Mr Tota co-founded the quantitative hedge fund Spark LP. Spark was established to develop proprietary computer networks and software systems to analyze global financial and economic data and exploit undiscovered market patterns. Ten years later, the firm continues to pioneer research in the financial application of advanced non-linear algorithms and ranks in the top quartile of hedge fund performance. Mr Tota has served as a Director of seven venture-stage companies, including technology development company X-Laboratories (acquired by Girvan) and specialty materials and chemicals company Yulex Corporation. Mr Tota’s current and recent service includes the Review Committee of the State of California’s Technology Investment Partnership (CalTIP), the Strategic Advisory Board for Pepperdine University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Law, and the Schools Committee of Southern California for Harvard College Mr Tota is the recipient of more than 100 scientific and academic awards and holds a Masters Degree in Literature and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Development Economics. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College. He is a member of the Academy of Economics and Finance, the Association for Investment Management and Research, the British Association for the Advancement of Science, the Econometric Society, the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts, and the Royal Economic Society.
