After some years of clinical practice, mainly in Spain’s public health system, he shifts his activity to hospital planning and design and works in this field for some of Spain’s main companies. His interest in computers pushes him to “go online” in the early 90s and launches Compuserve’s “Spanish Forum” in 1993, a space that soon became the reference of the early Spanish cyberspace. In 1995 he joined Servicom as its Chief Strategy Officer. Servicom was Spain’s first ISP, and became the market leader till it was merged into Retevisión (1998). He then joined this company’s Strategic Development department, as a specialist in Internet issues. In June 1999 he joined Terra Networks (then Telefónica Interactiva), Telefónica’s Internet company. In Terra he had different positions, always at Senior Corporate level (Access Services VP, Chief of Staff, Innovation VP…), and took active part in all significant events of the Company’s history (IPO, acquisition of Lycos Inc. and of other companies, etc.) From September 2007 he works as an independent consultant and University Professor. An active conferencist, he has taken part in numerous congresses, seminars and roundtables, and has also published a good number of articles on technology and IT issues.
