Claire Gruppo co-founded Gruppo, Levey & Co. in 1992, after nearly 18 years of experience working in the publishing and direct marketing industries. Since co-founding the firm, Ms. Gruppo has initiated and directed transactions and advisory assignments in every segment of the direct marketing industry. She has worked with multi-channel retailers such as Cornerstone Brands, Fingerhut and Sears; B2B distributors such as Emedco and Carfax; specialty publishers such as North American Outdoor Group, Inc.; marketing services companies such as Statewide Data Services and MSGi and numerous private equity firms including CCMP/JP Morgan Partners and Madison Dearborn Partners. Ms. Gruppo has held various senior management positions in the direct marketing divisions of large publishing companies throughout her career. Notably, she served as Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at American Express Publishing where she evaluated dozens of acquisitions as part of building a marketing business focused on publishing and affinity opportunities for marketing to the American Express cardholder database. She was also the President of Special Interest Video, a consumer catalog company, where she led a successful turnaround of the business and oversaw its sale to a strategic buyer. Ms. Gruppo brings a combined thirty years of transaction, strategic and operating experience to each client and assignment. Ms. Gruppo graduated with a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University.
