Bio

Dr. Bernard Peperstraete, M.D. is a Partner of NGN Capital. Prior to NGN, Dr. Peperstraete served as a Principal at Masa Life Science Ventures, where he focused on early stage life science opportunities. His previous life science operating roles include hospital manager, medical entrepreneur, sales and marketing executive and physician. In 2004, Bernard worked at Novartis where he evaluated the commercial market potential for emerging indications. Before completing his MBA at Harvard, Dr. Peperstraete was a Deputy Director at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH-CDC) in Singapore and was responsible for medical manpower coordination during the SARS crisis. Prior to CDC, he successfully co-founded and ran an Infectious Disease contract research business, also in Singapore. In 1999, after serving as a physician, Dr. Peperstraete managed the HIV business unit at Bristol Myers & Squibb, Singapore. Bernard is a Kauffman Fellow and was nominated a Fulbright scholar and a Belgian American Education Foundation (BAEF) fellow at Harvard. He earned his MD at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium and his specialist diploma in Tropical Medicine, also in Belgium. He currently holds observer seats on the boards of ACT Biotech and Exosome Diagnostics. At NGN, Bernard is further involved with the Noxxon AG and the Artisan Pharmaceuticals transactions. He previously served as a Director at Potentia Pharmaceuticals (Alcon).
