Senior pharmaceutical and biotech manager with extensive international experience, including identification, due diligence and negotiation of strategic alliances. Strong science background and proven ability to establish productive relationships with academic, clinical and regulatory experts. Currently providing consultancy services in the biotech and healthcare communications sectors. Founder and executive director (COO) of a biotech startup and developed a business plan together with the CEO and CSO (co-founders), which enabled them to raise venture capital funds of over £3 mio to establish the company in 2001. During 16 years in Sandoz Pharma Ltd and then Novartis Pharma Ltd, gained broad experience of the pharmaceutical industry, spanning research and development, research planning and strategic alliances, marketing and communications. In 1997, joined the senior management team of Imutran, a Novartis subsidiary based in Cambridge, as Director of External Affairs, with responsibility for managing Imutran’s internal and external communications programmes, media and issues management. Undertook academic research in leading institutions in Germany, Switzerland and California. PhD from The Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London.
